The scissor door kit is engineered using a matched gas charged shock to balance and leverage the weight of the door. Opening, lifting, and lowering the door requires no more effort than standard door operation. All kits are compatible with hard top and convertible roof types. No leaking, the doors close and seal like stock. The Metal King bolt-on kits are completely reversible installation to stock configuration. The Metal King scissor door kit modification adds only 7.5 kg per door. The Metal King Scissor door kit cannot be applied to rear doors of 4 door vehicles. Everything you need for a successful, reliable and cost effective conversion in a minimum amount of time is included in the bolt-on kits.

Materials, Manufacturing & Safety

Materials such as Titanium, Stainless Steel and various Aluminium Alloys were considered, each with their own set of fabrication and manufacturing pros & cons.

Although lightweight and corrosion resistant, Titanium and Stainless Steel were too expensive for our manufacturing goals and purpose. So with keeping customer cost down in mind various Aluminium Alloys were evaluated. They are corrosion resistant and only slightly lighter than steel. Aluminium - while not as expensive as the force mention materials but more expensive than steel - fatigues quickly causing micro stress fractures in the material which causes stretching of the material, constant door readjustment and eventually failure. Not to mention the corrosion issue related to the mixing of the steel hardware and a steel chassis with an aluminium alloy vertical door conversion.

With the addition of aluminium alloy hardware being an inadequate and costly alternative to the system, aluminium was quickly scraped. High strength steel with a rust preventing coating quickly became the material of choice, just like your original factory hinges. The Metal King scissor door kit is a TRUE bolt on system that comes complete with one left and one right bidirectional pivotal assembly system, wire extensions, detailed instructions, zip ties, door springs and replacement door and chassis high strength coated steel hardware.

The Metal King Scissor door Kit is a bidirectional pivotal system.  A simple hinge from your hardware store would not work without excessive body and chassis modification and would be extremely costly and dangerous. Safety is VERY important! Don't be fooled or misled.  Anyone trying to sell you a simple hardware store hinge or the idea that you can do it yourself from the hardware store supplies probably owns the hardware store.  The purpose of the Metal King scissor door kit is to enable the average auto enthusiast the chance to do this conversion without cutting, chopping and rebuilding their chassis and risking possible critical structural integrity, for a minimal cost and down time.  And this is what the Metal King Scissor Door Kit does!

Infringed Products (BEWARE OF COPIES)

Beware of other distributors / shops / Internet sites trying to sell the copy version kit that will not fit your car. The copy version is made in CHINA, using really soft steel, causing the doors to go out of adjustment after couple of months. This will eventually ruin your paint, and bend your fender, and may cause your door to even fall off. Just remember, you get what you pay for, and we have pictures to prove it!

Warranty

We have a warranty on all of our kits and shocks. If you have any problems with your products, we warranty it. Just keep the original invoice.
